- Report Reveals Which U.S. Cities Consume the Most Water
June 21, 2012 — Phoenix, AZ, uses the most water in the United States, with an average 131,400 gallons per year per family, according to a report by American Water Intelligence.
The study found little correlation between drought or dry conditions in a locality and the amount of water its citizens use, according to a press release from Waterless® Co., Inc. The 10 cities in the United States that use the most water per family are:
