- Federal Court Upholds EPA Clean Air Act
June 28, 2012 — The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Clean Air Act has been upheld by a federal appeals court.
Fourteen states had sued to block the EPA’s regulations, but the court ruled that the EPA’s findings that heat-trapping gases from industry and vehicles endanger public health were “unambiguously correct,” reports The New York Times. The court also let stand related rules limiting emissions from stationary sources.
