ISSA Promotes Cleaning Industry in K-12 Market

February 17, 2012 — Through a special arrangement with the National Association of State Boards of Education, ISSA was featured extensively in the special green cleaning issue of the State Education Standard, America’s #1 education journal for informed policy discussions in the K-12 market.

ISSA staff-written articles include ISSA Director of Facility Service Programs Dan Wagner’s write up on existing and emerging third-party green cleaning certification programs. The Standard also contains an article by ISSA Director of Environmental Services and Legislative Affairs Bill Balek on how state governments are promoting green cleaning in schools.

The February 2012 Green Cleaning of the State Education Standard, also features:

  • Case studies on green cleaning in schools,
  • Guidelines for the implementation of a green cleaning program in a K-12 environment
  • A recommendation that schools direct their green cleaning business to ISSA members.

The NASBE Standard is distributed to a select group of decision makers that includes state board of education members, chief state school officers, governors’ education aides, national and state-based education associations, as well as many local school boards and superintendents. As such the Standard is considered one of the more influential in the K-12 market.
