China Issues New Public Restroom Regulations

June 6, 2012 — Public restrooms in Beijing, China, should contain no more than two flies, according to newly released government regulations.

The new rules, issued by Beijing's Municipal Commission of City Administration and Environment, also set standards on restroom odor and cleaning garbage cans, reports The European Cleaning Journal. Additionally, all public toilets in tourist spots in Beijing are required to have signs in both English and Chinese.
