Janitorial Workers March in Chicago

March 1, 2012 — About 3,000 Service Employees International Union-member janitors marched through downtown Chicago, IL, on February 25, reports WBBM-TV Chicago.

Organizers said the goal of the march was to bring awareness to contract renegotiations, which are scheduled to begin next week. The union’s current agreement with commercial office buildings, the city of Chicago, and several public school districts is scheduled to expire April 8.
