May 29, 2012 — The European Commission has approved SCA’s sale of its packaging division, SCA Packaging, to DS Smith.
SCA had announced the transaction in January, pending approval from the European Union (EU). DS Smith’s purchase price amounts to 1.7 billion euros on a debt-free basis.
