HAI Prevention Market Reaches $16 Billion

March 14, 2017

The world market for health care-acquired infection (HAI) prevention and treatment reached US$16 billion in 2016, according to the health care market research firm Kalorama Information.

Technological innovations and increased interest in effective HAI prevention, diagnosis, and treatments were among the driving factors towards the 2016 market growth.

“There will always be a need to control these infections, as many of the bacteria that cause infection evolve and develop resistance to antimicrobials,” said Kalorma Information Publisher Bruce Carlson in a press release. “New approaches to preventing, diagnosing, and treating such infection will be required for the long-term.”
