Johnson Controls Inc. will invest more than US$112 million to upgrade production at its absorbent glass mat (AGM) battery factory in Hannover, Germany.
The expansion project will add more than 45,000 square feet of production space to the Hannover facility in an effort to meet the increasing demand for AGM batteries in the region. According to Johnson Controls Power Solutions Managing Director Johann-Friedrich Dempwolff, AGM batteries will power more than 85 percent of all new vehicles manufactured in Europe by 2020.
