Listeria Concerns Prompt Cheese Recall

February 13, 2017

Sargento Foods, Inc. has issued a voluntary recall for seven varieties of its shredded and sliced cheese products.

Sargento issued the recall after being notified that a supplier may have provided the company with Colby cheese contaminated with the bacteria. The recalled cheeses were produced at Sargento’s Plymouth, WI, manufacturing facility and distributed to retailers nationwide.

So far no reports of illness have been linked to the potentially contaminated cheese, CNN reports
