Norovirus Outbreak Temporarily Shutters Louisiana School

Officials at Hammond Westside Montessori School in Hammond, LA, closed the school Friday due to an outbreak of norovirus.

School district officials ordered the temporary closure after more than 300 students were sickened with the gastrointestinal virus in the past week. A private cleaning company has been contracted to perform a thorough cleaning and sanitization of the school and its buses, WBRZ-TV reports.
