3M has filed legal action in in Superior Court in Ontario, Canada, against Caonic Systems Inc.

3M’s lawsuit alleges that the Ontario-based Caonic Supply is falsely claiming to be affiliated with 3M. According to 3M, Caonic Supply registered as 3M-Health.com on the Canadian e-commerce platform Shopify and was selling N95 respirators at more than five times the appropriate retail price.

3M is seeking an injunction blocking Caonic Supply’s activities and an undisclosed sum of damages. 3M claims any damages awarded will be donated to COVID-19 relief funds. Last week, 3M filed similar suits against distributors in New Jersey and Florida.
