3M Improves First-Quarter Sales 9.6%

3M has reported fiscal-first-quarter sales of US$8.9 billion, up 9.6% year-on-year.
Sales in the company’s health care division climbed 6.8% to $2.2 billion and its consumer division saw a 9.8% jump in sales to $1.4 billion. 3M’s safety and industrial division reported sales of $3.3 billion, an increase of 13.7% while sales in the company’s transportation and electronics division jumped 13.1% to $2.5 billion.
