3M Increases 1st-Quarter Sales 2.7%

3M has reported fiscal-first-quarter sales of US$8.1 billion, up 2.7% year-on-year.
Sales in the company’s health care division climbed 21% to $2.1 billion and its consumer division saw a 4.6% growth in sales to $1.3 billion. 3M’s safety and industrial division reported sales of $2.9 billion, a decline of 1% while sales in the company’s transportation and electronics division dipped 5% to $2.2 billion.
