3M Increases 1st-Quarter Sales 7.7%

3M has reported fiscal-first-quarter sales of US$8.3 billion, up 7.7 percent from one year earlier.
Sales in the company’s industrial segment increased 7.1 percent to $3.1 billion during the first quarter, and sales in its health care division rose 7.1 percent to $1.5 billion. 3M’s safety and graphics division increased sales 15 percent to $1.8 billion, while its electronics and energy division reported $1.4 billion in quarterly sales, a 4.6 increase from the previous year.
