3M to Expand South Dakota Facility

3M has announced plans to expand the company’s Aberdeen, South Dakota, production facility.
The expansion project will add another 120,000 square feet to the facility, allowing it to increase production capabilities of N95 respirators. 3M recently signed a deal with the U.S. Department of Defense to manufacture millions of the respirators per month. 3M anticipates that the first phase of expansion, totaling 60,000 square feet, will be complete in the next 90 days, allowing the company to add an additional 100 employees, The Argus Leader reports.
