Cintas Earns North Carolina’s Top Safety and Health Certification

Cintas Corporation’s Charlotte, North Carolina, First Aid & Safety location has achieved Carolina Star certification, the North Carolina Department of Labor’s (NCDOL) highest level of safety and health recognition.

NCDOL Commissioner of Labor Cherie Berry and U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) representatives joined Mark Carter, president and chief operating officer (COO) of Cintas’ First Aid & Safety Division, and Cintas employee-partners for a ceremony on December 4 at the Cintas location in Charlotte.

“Working safely every day is part of our culture, so earning this distinction is an honor,” said Nathan Murphy, general manager at the Cintas Charlotte First Aid & Safety location. “Earning Carolina Star certification demonstrates the collaboration across our team to foster a productive work environment with the common goal of eliminating workplace injuries and illnesses.”

The Carolina Star Program is designed to recognize employers and employees who have implemented effective safety and health management systems and maintain injury and illness rates that meet the criteria for participation. Star Program participants are proactive and partner with the North Carolina Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Division to prevent fatalities, injuries, and illnesses.
