Cleveland Approves $15 Minimum Wage for City Employees
June 30, 2017Cleveland, OH, has voted to approve Mayor Frank Jackson’s motion to raise the minimum wage to US$15 for City of Cleveland employees.
The raise bumps up employees that were previously making less than $15 per hour to that threshold. It affects roughly 500 employees throughout the city and will include trainees and cadets. The implementation is waiting for union approval, according to FOX 8 Cleveland. The union which represents airport and city building janitors, The Service Employees International Union Local 1, said that while some of its members will be seeing a pay raise, it would like to see a increase for all Cleveland employees.
