CMI and Sunbelt Rentals Partner to Offer Training and Scholarships

ISSA’s Cleaning Management Institute (CMI) and Sunbelt Rentals have entered into a partnership to provide online and in-person training supporting career development for building service contractors, in-house service providers, and other cleaning industry professionals.

The two organizations are offering a free, online Cleaning 101 certificate course designed as an entry-level guide to the industry. The available courses range from the chemistry of cleaning to floor cleaning and hard floor care. Participants will receive a certificate of completion once all courses have been passed. “Our goal is to empower people to succeed within all levels of the cleaning industry by expanding their skill set and advancing career development through training, education, and certification,” said Adam Camhi, Sunbelt vice president of flooring solutions “By providing online education at no cost and offering a scholarship program for in-person classes, we are focused on ensuring these opportunities are available for everyone.”

In addition, Sunbelt is offering in-person classes, ranging from basic to expert level, at more than 50 locations across the country. CMI-certified trainers will teach the classes using CMI certification course materials. The three courses—hard floor care; carpet care; and the chemistry of cleaning, restroom, and above floor care—result in a CMI Certified Custodial Technician Expert certification upon successful completion.
