Crothall Achieves CIMS Certification for 10th Consecutive Year

August 27, 2019 Crothall Achieves CIMS Certification for 10th Consecutive Year

Crothall Healthcare has successfully completed recertification to the ISSA Cleaning Industry Management Standard (CIMS) and CIMS-Green Building (CIMS-GB).

CIMS and CIMS-GB certification help to set cleaning organizations and their green cleaning operations apart in the marketplace. It also helps to meet the growing demand for the U.S. Green Building Council’s (USGBC) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification. CIMS and CIMS-GB certification are required in many cleaning service bid specifications as customers look for an effective way to identify high-quality providers committed to customer satisfaction. Crothall has achieved CIMS certification for 10 consecutive years.

To achieve this certification, an ISSA-accredited third-party assessor conducts a three-day, on-site review of Crothall’s cleaning practices and documentation to ensure compliance. This also includes visiting with customers, further verifying Crothall remains consistent and compliant with CIMS requirements. CIMS-GB takes this certification a step further, placing much greater emphasis on green cleaning and sustainability.

“Crothall was the nation’s first healthcare support service provider to achieve CIMS-GB certification in 2011—and we are proud we’ve kept it ever since,” said Rich Feczko, Crothall’s national director of systems, standards, innovation, and global support. “It is one of the many ways we set ourselves apart from the competition and we will continue to invest in sustainability programs that help our health care clients reduce their carbon footprint and meet their green goals. Doing so will make hospitals safer for patients, medical staff, and all visitors.”

Independent, accredited assessors verify CIMS and CIMS-GB-certified firms meet the industry standard for:

  • Quality systems
  • Service delivery
  • Human resources
  • Health, safety, and environmental stewardship
  • Management commitment
  • Green building.

Recently, CIMS-GB became a direct compliance option to meet the green-cleaning policy prerequisite of Version 4 of the USGBC’s revised Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design for Existing Buildings: Operations and Maintenance (LEED EB: O&M) rating system.
