Cyclospora Outbreak Reported in Massachusetts

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health reported more than 100 people have been sickened by cyclospora since May 1.

According to health officials, a majority of the infections from the foodborne parasite were centralized in the Boston metro area. The state’s health department is investigating the source of the outbreak and has cautioned the public to practice proper hand hygiene and to properly wash all fruits and vegetables before consuming them, Western Mass News reports.
