Dallas Aims to Achieve GBAC® STAR Accreditation

May 7, 2020 Dallas Aims to Achieve GBAC<sup>®</sup> STAR Accreditation

VisitDallas and the Dallas Tourism Public Improvement District (DTPID) have announced a collaborative initiative to assist the city’s hospitality industry achieve GBAC® STAR accreditation from the Global Biorisk Advisory Council® (GBAC), a division of ISSA.

The DTPID and VisitDallas will implement and fund the effort for the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas and hotels within the Dallas tourism public improvement district. Dallas aims to be the first destination to receive GBAC® STAR accreditation.

Additionally, VisitDallas will sponsor scholarships for facility personnel at city-owned arts and cultural institutions to enroll in the GBAC Online Fundamentals Course, which trains individuals on infection and contamination control measures for infectious disease outbreak situations such as the novel coronavirus.
