Dow Boosts Hand Sanitizer Production in Germany

Dow Chemical Co. announced the company has dramatically increased production of hand sanitizer in Germany.
Last week, the German Ministry of Health asked chemical manufacturers for assistance in the country’s efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19. Hospitals and pharmacies throughout the region are reporting massive shortages. Since March 20, Dow has increased production to more than 15 tons of hand sanitizer solution per day. The disinfectant has been made available to government authorities for distribution to pharmacies and hospitals free of charge.
Dow does not regularly produce hand sanitizer, but a large proportion of the required ingredients are already produced at the company’s German manufacturing sites. Dow will continue its high rate of production until the pandemic subsides.
