June 24, 2020 Eastman Helps Supply Brazilian Hospitals With PPE

Eastman Chemical Co. has partnered with Suntech Supplies to supply health care workers in Brazil with personal protective equipment.

Eastman has agreed to supply its Trēva™ engineering bioplastic, a high-quality cellulose-based thermoplastic, to the safety glasses manufacturer. Suntech will use the bioplastic to manufacture protective goggles which will be donated to frontline workers battling the coronavirus pandemic in hospitals throughout Brazil.

“We want to ensure that these goggles have the best quality and offer high performance to health care professionals that will use them while battling to save lives,” says Rogério Dias, sales manager of specialty plastics for Eastman in Latin America. “This initiative is part of Eastman’s mission to collaborate and aid in the fight against this worldwide health challenge.”

Eastman previously donated materials to PPE manufacturers in Tennessee and Wisconsin as part of its efforts to assist in the COVID-19 outbreak.
