Ecolab Increases 1st-Quarter Profit

Ecolab, Inc. has declared a fiscal first-quarter profit of US$235.9 million, or $0.80 per share, up 2 percent from $23.04 million, or $0.77 per share, one year earlier.

The company reported first-quarter revenues of $3.16 billion, an increase of 1.9 percent compared to the same period one year ago. Ecolab’s industrial segment improved sales 3 percent, while revenues in the company’s institutional business grew 4 percent.
