Ecolab Increases 2nd-Quarter Earnings 19%

Ecolab, Inc. has declared a fiscal second-quarter profit of US$351.3 million, or $1.20 per share, up 19 percent from $294.8 million, or $1.00 per share, one year earlier.

The company reported second-quarter sales of $3.68 billion, an increase of 7 percent compared to the same period one year ago. Ecolab’s energy segment improved sales 5 percent, while revenues in the company’s institutional business grew 4 percent.
