Ecoserv Achieves Carbon Neutral Status

Ecoserv Group (formerly Ecocleen Services Ltd.) recently achieved certified carbon neutral status.

Ecoserv reached the environmental benchmark by offsetting nearly 1,285 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e). The company partnered with Ecologi to offset its 2020 carbon footprint, covering scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, and will maintain neutral status while the company works toward its target of net zero by 2030. As part of its agreement with Ecologi, Ecoserv will contribute to a wind power plant in Vietnam, as well as assist with preserving 27,000 hectares of Amazonian rainforest in Brazil.

“The race to net zero is really gearing up and as an organization we want to be carbon positive as soon as possible. We will continue to offset where we cannot reduce or reduction remains an ongoing goal, but for us this is only a temporary solution. Last year we took steps to calculate our exact carbon footprint and establish science-based reduction targets, which will underpin our efforts this year to develop and implement effective carbon removal initiatives,” said Sally Ann Van Blerk, Ecoserv sustainability and brand director.
