Flu Activity Continues to Increase

Seasonal influenza activity continues to increase in the United States, with flu activity indicators higher than typical for the week ending November 18, according to the weekly report from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Louisiana and Mississippi experienced high flu activity and Georgia experienced moderate flu activity, Infection Control Daily reported. Alabama, Nebraska, South Carolina, and Texas experienced low flu activity. So far, five influenza-associated pediatric deaths have been reported to the CDC for the 2017-2018 season.
