GBAC Executive Director Offers Advice on Workplace Safety

January 4, 2021 GBAC Executive Director Offers Advice on Workplace Safety

As the COVID-19 vaccine is more widely distributed and employees who have been working from home return to the workplace in 2021, facility managers need to ensure buildings remain clean and hygienic. A new campaign which includes input from ISSA—the Future of Business: Workplace Health & Safety—provides various resources to help facility managers and cleaning professionals achieve this goal.

For instance, an article on Providing Cleanliness and Confidence as Offices Welcome Back Employees features tips from Patty Olinger, executive director of the Global Biorisk Advisory Council® (GBAC), a division of ISSA, on documenting all hazards and risks for pathogen spread in a facility and establishing internal standard operating procedures for cleaning, disinfection, and infectious disease prevention.

Other articles in the campaign offer information on strengthening cybersecurity, supporting workers who continue to work from remote locations, and tackling workplace pollutants.
