Georgia-Pacific to Expand Production at Oregon Plant
October 12, 2020Georgia-Pacific LLC, parent company of Georgia-Pacific Professional, announced plans to invest more than US$25 million in its Wauna Mill in Clatskanie, Oregon.
The Oregon mill produces a variety of tissue and paper products, including the company’s Angel Soft toilet paper line. The expansion project will add a new converting line, allowing Georgia-Pacific to keep up with the increased demand for toilet paper in the Western U.S., The Chief reports.
“The new converting line takes large rolls of bath tissue that come from our paper machine and turns those larger roles into the size rolls consumers purchase,” Kristi Ward, spokesperson for Georgia-Pacific, said. “During the next year, it will be assembled at the mill before starting up sometime in 2021.”
