Help Hurricane Relief Efforts

October 2, 2017

As the victims of the destruction wrought by Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, Jose, and Maria continue to struggle, the ISSA Foundation is asking ISSA members companies to please consider donating products as the residents affected are in desperate need.

Here’s how you and your company can help:

Product Donations
The ISSA Foundation continues to work with Good360 to collect and supply critical necessities to those affected by the devastation. The extremely powerful and catastrophic hurricanes have caused major devastation in Texas, Louisiana, Florida, as well as in the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. With damage estimated at upwards of $500 billion, there are years of recovery and rebuilding ahead.

Good360 continues to work closely with FEMA and nonprofit partners to help with the recovery and rebuilding phases that will last for months and years.  Cleaning and maintenance products along with personal protective equipment are needed right now.  Building supplies, paints and tools will be needed soon in the next phase. Good360 is committed to deliver critically needed items, with the support of our partners, to impacted areas.

ISSA members are in position to help Good360 pre-position product to help in that phase at no cost.

If your company has product that can help, please consider donating and complete Good360’s online donation form. Good360 staff will get your product to the right place at the right time to best assist the victims.  As always, Good360 will provide full transparency, tracking and reporting for your product donation, and will also provide impact stories and photos.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Jim Alvey, Director of corporate development at Good360.

Personal Hygiene Kits Needed!
FEMA has also stressed the need for personal hygiene, so the ISSA Foundation is also partnering with Clean the World to gather company sponsors to assemble hygiene kits. Clean the World partners with 5,000 hotels and resorts to collect their partially used bars of soap. These goods are sanitized and recycled in an environmentally safe manner, then distributed to children and families all over the world who are in desperate need of proper hygiene. Clean the World delivered over 490,000 bars of soap to both Haiti and the Bahamas and distributed thousands of hygiene kits in the United States to those affected by hurricane Matthew’s destruction in October 2016. Companies interested in sponsoring a hygiene kit assembly should contact Tracy Weber at the ISSA Foundation. Sponsorships are available in any amount; US$3,000 sponsorship will cover the materials to assemble 600 personal hygiene kits, but sponsor any amount.
