Hillyard Redevelopment Project Hits Milestone
October 7, 2020Hillyard Inc. announced the company’s corporate redevelopment and expansion project has reached a milestone this week.
According to Hillyard, demolition has begun on the former WireCo World Group facility in downtown St. Joseph, Mo. The property will be the site of Hillyard’s new 25-acre manufacturing and national distribution center. Demolition of the WireCo facility is anticipated to take six to nine months.
“We are extremely excited to be moving forward with this project,” said Brett Carolus, Hillyard chief administration officer. “Like Hillyard, WireCo has been a fixture in the downtown community for generations, and we understand the demolition may be bittersweet for some. Our goal is to be good stewards of the property as we continue to provide opportunities of growth and reinvestment in the downtown area.”
