IICRC Seeks Input on Crime Scene Cleanup Standard

June 9, 2020 IICRC Seeks Input on Crime Scene Cleanup Standard

The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning, and Restoration Certification (IICRC) is now accepting volunteers to assist in the revision of a standard for trauma and crime scene cleanup.

BSR/IICRC S540 Standard for Trauma and Crime Scene Cleanup outlines the criteria and methodology for inspecting and investigating blood and other potentially infectious material contamination and for establishing work plans and procedures. The standard also lays out administrative procedures, documentation, and required equipment. Cleaning-industry professionals interested in volunteering for the standard’s consensus body can download application forms from the IICRC’s website.
