Industry Loses Kellermeyer Building Services Founder
November 9, 2020Donald V. Kellermeyer, founder of Kellermeyer Building Services, passed away November 3, 2020. He was 81 years old.
Kellermeyer was born June 9, 1939, in Toledo, Ohio, where he spent much of his life. After spending six years as a trained medic in the U.S. Army reserves, he joined the family business, the Kellermeyer Co., with his twin brother Tom. The twins took over the company for their father in the 1960s, and later in the decade founded Kellermeyer Building Services. When the family eventually sold Kellermeyer Building Services in the early 1990s, it had accounts in 42 of the 50 states. Today the company operates as a division of Kellermeyer Bergensons Services (KBS).
Kellermeyer is survived by his wife, Shari; his brother, Tom; his children, Greg and Kris; and his three grandchildren.
