ISSA Adds to Training & Certifications Team

ISSA, the worldwide cleaning industry association, has made a series of strategic appointments to its training and certification team to ensure the continued growth and development of its brands and programs.

“It is our belief that this new alignment will create even greater growth as we look to expand this vital aspect of our reach and curate our offerings to meet the needs of each of our member classes,” said ISSA Executive Director John Barrett.

The internal promotions include Brant Insero, who has now taken on the role of ISSA Director of Education, Training, Certifications and Standards under ISSA’s Cleaning Management Institute (CMI) brand; Lucas Wendt, who has been promoted to CMI Training Development Specialist, and Christa Perez, who assumes the role of ISSA’s Cleaning Industry Management Standard (CIMS) Account Manager. The additions to ISSA include Mark Warner as Senior Training Specialist for CMI and Charlie Janowicz as CIMS Senior Sales Executive.

Insero has been the driving force behind one of ISSA’s most successful education programs under the CMI brand for the past four years. With more than a decade of training experience, including sales, customer service, and custodial operations, he continues to drive innovation within ISSA. “In his new role, Insero, with his industry experience in professional development and certification, will bring new insight and be able to tailor ISSA’s offerings to better serve our member communities,” said Barrett.

Wendt, who previously managed ISSA’s Cleaning Industry Training Standard (CITS) frontline training and certification program, will now work with Insero to grow the CMI brand. He will act as the main line of communication for all ISSA/INTERCLEAN® trade show seminar inquiries and speakers. Wendt will be working to launch a new learning management system in 2017 and will continue to develop CITS programs and training centers.

Perez started at ISSA as a Support Specialist for the Education and Certification department and was promoted to Account Manager in December 2016. In her new role as Account Manager she will be in charge of the CIMS- Green Building (GB) certification program, primarily focusing on CIMS Certification Renewals, Industry Certification Experts (I.C.E.) Certifications, and I.C.E. Renewals.

Warner joins ISSA as Senior Training Specialist for CMI. Over the last several years, he has provided consulting services and training seminars to agencies working with the Harrisburg, PA-based nonprofit UniqueSource. “Warner, with his background in training and certifications and his industry experience will drive the growth of our education programs under our CMI brand in 2017 and beyond,” said Barrett. “With his industry experience, he will undoubtedly play an integral role in the growth of CMI.”

Janowicz joins ISSA as CIMS Senior Sales Executive. In his new role, Janowicz will be selling directly to target market segments, generating new leads, and developing the CIMS program overall. Janowicz brings more than 30 years of experience in sales and management in the janitorial industry to ISSA, as well as an enthusiasm and passion that drive his desire to succeed. As the former owner and operator of Perfect Interiors Commercial Cleaning Co., Janowicz has firsthand knowledge of the industry and will leverage this experience on a daily basis.
