ISSA Hosts Summit for Cleaning Professionals in Africa

The first-ever African ISSA Executive Summit was held in Milnerton, South Africa, yesterday. More than 100 delegates from Africa’s professional cleaning industry gathered to learn and connect at the Lagoon Beach Hotel. The one-day event was sold out more than a month in advance.

The strategic management sessions were interactive and engaging: The carefully selected executive sessions addressed pertinent business topics such a strategic thinking, transformational leadership, sales benchmarking, facility management standards, brand identity development, and the implementation of green-cleaning strategies.

Additionally, an ISSA educational session was held in Africa for the first time. More than 50 managers and supervisors graduated as International Accredited Auditing Professionals (IAAP) during the summit. Through this interactive program, delegates learned the technical skills needed to perform a facility audit, as well as the ethical aspects of having this responsibility.

The summit also featured an exhibition area where cleaning industry manufacturers and suppliers interacted with attendees during breaks.

The combination of the summit, IAAP workshop, cocktail party, official dinner, and the next day’s site visit, provided delegates with multiple opportunities to learn, grow, network, and discuss industry trends.

The next African ISSA Executive Summit is planned for 2020.
