September 5, 2018 ISSA Hygieia Network to Host Annual Awards Ceremony

The ISSA Hygieia Network (IHN), an ISSA Charities program dedicated to the advancement and retention of women in the cleaning industry, announced today that nominations are now open for its annual awards. The winners will be presented at the IHN Awards ceremony, which will take place Tuesday, October 30, 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., at the Omni Dallas Hotel in Dallas, TX, during the ISSA Show North America 2018. A formal dinner and keynote speaker will be featured.

“Over the last several years, IHN has recognized many extraordinary women within the professional cleaning industry for their hard work, incredible achievements, and endless passion to make the workplace more inclusive,” said IHN Chair Dr. Ilham Kadri.  “We’re excited to host our annual ceremony and introduce our advisory board as well as some of our newest initiatives, including our mentoring program.”

The IHN awards were founded to recognize individuals and organizations that have made a significant contribution to the global cleaning industry. Nominations will be evaluated by the IHN Council and its selected awards jury.

Below are this year’s four IHN Award categories:

  • IHN Member of the Year recognizes an IHN member’s involvement in activities that fulfill one or more of the network’s goals and objectives.
  • IHN Rising Star of the Year venerates women aged 35 and under who have made significant achievements within the industry.
  • IHN Employer of the Year honors the company that best promotes women’s interests.
  • IHN Man of the Year is presented to a male professional who is dedicated to promoting the advancement of women in the cleaning industry through mentoring.

In addition to these awards, special honors and awards may be bestowed on deserving individuals or organizations at the discretion of the IHN board.

“Last year, we received an outstanding number of nominations and look forward to reviewing this year’s nominees,” Kadri stated. “If you know a talented and deserving person or company within the industry, make sure to nominate them!” Nominations are open now through October 12, 2018.

During the ceremony, IHN will introduce its new mentoring program and invite attendees to sign up to become a mentor or mentee. The IHN book Invisible Heroes, which includes inspirational stories from more than 20 women within the cleaning industry, will also be available for purchase.
