Kärcher to Clean Historic Cleveland Library

November 15, 2019 Kärcher to Clean Historic Cleveland Library

Kärcher has agreed to deliver a preservation cleaning project at the Lorain library in Cleveland, Ohio, as part of the company’s cultural sponsoring initiative.

The Greek-inspired 8,400-square-foot building was built in 1912 with funds donated by American philanthropist Andrew Carnegie. Nick Heyden, a historical preservation cleaning expert for Kärcher, will travel to Cleveland from Germany specifically to oversee the project, Cleanzine reports.

“Kärcher has been actively involved in supporting the preservation of historical monuments and buildings, free of charge, for over 30 years with our Cultural Sponsoring program,” said Kris Cannon-Schmitt, vice president for Kärcher.

“The Lorain Branch is a remarkable Carnegie building,” said Felton Thomas Jr., director and CEO of the Cleveland Public Library. “It is rich in history and it’s wonderful to have the opportunity to see its facade renewed.”
