Kimberly-Clark Breaks Ground on Wind Farm

November 24, 2021

Kimberly-Clark Corp., parent company of Kimberly-Clark Professional, recently began construction of an on-shore wind farm in South Lanarkshire, Scotland.

The wind farm, which is owned by Octopus Renewables Infrastructure Trust, is anticipated to be fully operational in the next 12 to 15 months, reports The Grocer. The facility will generate approximately 160,000 megawatt hours of renewable energy, providing power to three Kimberly-Clark manufacturing plants as well as two of its main United Kingdom distribution centers.

“Consumers expect brands to lead change, be purpose-driven, and be environmentally sustainable,” said Oriol Margó, Kimberly-Clark sustainability leader for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. “We are constantly innovating to find our next sustainable solution and reduce our environmental footprint.”
