Kimberly-Clark Commits to Wind Power

Kimberly-Clark Corp., parent company of Kimberly-Clark Professional, has agreed to purchase approximately 1,000,000 megawatt hours per year from wind farms in Texas and Oklahoma.

The electricity supplied by the two wind farms will provide one-third of the power needs of Kimberly-Clark’s North American manufacturing facilities. The renewable energy initiatives are part of Kimberly-Clark’s goal to reduce its absolute greenhouse gas emissions by 20 percent from 2005 levels by 2022.
