Legionnaires’ Disease Outbreak Strikes NYC

Local health officials are investigating an outbreak of Legionnaires’ disease in New York, NY.

According to the New York City Health Department, one dozen cases of the bacterial infection have been reported in the city’s Flushing neighborhood during the past two weeks. Five individuals have been hospitalized due to the outbreak.

Health officials are examining cooling towers in the neighborhood in an attempt to locate the source of the legionella bacteria, Fox News reports.
