Macpherson Named Chairman of Grainger Board

The W. W. Grainger Board of Directors has named D.G. Macpherson chairman of the board, effective October 1, 2017. His appointment to chairman was part of the succession plan revealed in August 2016, when he was named CEO.
Macpherson replaces Jim Ryan, who had 37 years of service with Grainger, including eight years as CEO.
Macpherson joined Grainger in 2008 after working on behalf of Grainger for six years as a partner and managing director at Boston Consulting Group.
