Medline Expands PPE Production

Medline Industries Inc. has announced plans to upgrade its Lithia Springs, Georgia production facility.

Medline has modified the plant’s production line to manufacture face masks and other personal protective equipment (PPE). The company is also adding a second assembly line to the facility. Medline anticipates both lines to be fully operational in 2021, at which point the facility will be capable of producing 36 million face masks per month.

“Throughout the pandemic, Medline has been laser-focused on implementing new ideas to combat the national shortage of medical supplies,” said Charlie Mills, Medline CEO. “In particular, our customers have a critical need for readily available face masks. This is a significant capital investment in one of our largest manufacturing facilities that will increase the number of face masks Medline can offer to healthcare facilities and diversifies our PPE supply chain.”
