Minneapolis Approves $15 Minimum Wage

The Minneapolis, MN, City Council has approved and implemented a US$15 minimum wage for all workers in the city.

The increase is slated to go into effect by 2022 for businesses with more than a 100 employees and by 2024 for all other organizations. Minneapolis joins Seattle, WA; San Francisco, CA; Washington D.C.; and several other cities in implementing this raise. The proposal received just one opposition vote on its way to approval, according to The Minneapolis Star Tribune.
