P&G Pledges $5 Million to Support Diversity and Inclusion
June 5, 2020Procter & Gamble (P&G), parent company of Procter & Gamble Professional, has established a fund with an initial contribution of US$5 million to support organizations combating racism and encouraging diversity and inclusion.
P&G’s initiative, called the “Take on Race Fund,” will support such organizations as the NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund, the YWCA Stand Against Racism and the United Negro College Fund. The fund will also support smaller, local organizations.
“For years, we have used our voice as a leading advertiser to shine a light on inequality, highlight bias, and spark dialogue that leads to understanding and action,” P&G said in a statement. “We’ve brought companies together for collective action. And we’ve made equality a priority within our own walls. But that’s not enough. More is needed. Now.”
