Report: Cleaning Industry Totals 5% of United Kingdom’s Workforce
March 25, 2020The cleaning industry accounts for 5% of the total workforce in the United Kingdom, according to a new study by the British Cleaning Council (BCC).
BCC’s report found that there are approximately 1.63 million workers in the region’s cleaning market, Cleaning Hygiene Today reports. The study included workers in non-core cleaning industries such as airplane cabin crew cleaners. According to BCC, the cleaning industry has grown 5% since 2018 and is now one of the United Kingdom’s top 10 industries for employment, contributing US$64.7 billion to the region’s economy.
