Rubbermaid Issues Recycling Report

Rubbermaid Commercial Products has released a new report on commercial recycling and waste management in Europe.

The study is part of Rubbermaid’s year-long Love Recycling initiative which aims to improve workplace recycling. In compiling its study, Rubbermaid surveyed more than 800 businesses across Europe on their waste management practices, European Cleaning Journal reports.

Rubbermaid’s report found:

• Nearly three-quarters (73%) of businesses felt their recycling efforts are not always successful
• More than two-thirds said poor or nonexistent processes or facilities impact how much they recycle
• Ninety percent stated the government needs to do more to encourage commercial recycling
• One in three businesses blames low levels of staff training as a barrier to greater recycling success.
