SC Johnson Donates 9,000 Books to Students

December 22, 2017

As part of a community effort to promote literacy and inclusiveness, SC Johnson, parent company of SC Johnson Professional, has donated 9,000 copies of the book “Wonder” to elementary school students in Racine, WI, The Journal Times reports. The books will be distributed in January to fourth- through eighth-grade students.

The book, which was made into a movie and released in 2017, tells the tale of a boy with facial differences attending a mainstream school for the first time.

In addition to reading the book, students will work through a corresponding curriculum provided by myFace, a nonprofit organization supporting patients with facial disfigurement. After students have read the book and worked through the curriculum, SC Johnson will fund field trips for them to watch the movie version of “Wonder.”
