SC Johnson Updates Progress on Reducing Plastic Pollution

November 9, 2020

SC Johnson, parent company of SC Johnson Professional,  announced the company has made significant progress toward its 2025 targets to reduce plastic pollution.

According to the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s second annual report on the New Plastics Economy Global Commitment, SC Johnson has increased the amount of post-consumer recycled plastic content in its packaging from 6% last year to 14% in 2020. In addition, 62% of SC Johnson products are designed for recyclable, compostable, or reusable storage. The company has also partnered to advance a circular economy for plastic packaging.

“SC Johnson teams are continuing to create products and packaging that give consumers more sustainable options,” said Fisk Johnson, SC Johnson chairman and CEO. “We all have a responsibility to address this critical environmental issue, but equally none of us can solve this challenge alone. It will take a unified effort from business, government, and civil society to create a circular plastic economy.”
