Simon Institute Honors University of Michigan Custodial Director
June 15, 2018John Lawter, director of custodial and grounds services at the University of Michigan (U-M), has been named the recipient of the Simon Institute’s 2018 Pinnacle Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Cleaning Industry.
The cleaning-industry nonprofit recognized Lawter for developing initiatives that increased sustainability and cost-savings at the Ann Arbor, MI, school. Lawter has been at U-M since 2001. The school’s custodial and grounds services department achieved CIMS-GB certification in 2015.
