Sodexo Recognized for Climate Change LeadershipDecember 7, 2020
Sodexo’s carbon footprint reduction plan has been recognized as industry-leading by the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC).
Established in 2009, the company’s sustainability initiative, Better Tomorrow 2025, seeks to reduce Sodexo’s carbon footprint by 34% globally by 2025. According to the NRDC, “Sodexo is ahead of the competition in establishing an overall goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and quantifying the percentage of greenhouse gas emissions associated with climate-intensive foods.”
“We are very proud of our company’s efforts to establish a robust, science-based target,” said Ted Monk, vice president of sustainability and corporate social responsibility for Sodexo North America. “We are focused on doing the difficult, but necessary, work to realize that goal by focusing on the key areas of opportunity within our organization, including advancing plant-based diets, preventing waste, sourcing responsibly, and managing energy efficiently.”
Founded in 1966, Sodexo is a global provider of integrated food and facilities management services with more than 380,000 employees in 80 countries. For more information, visit www.sodexo.com.
